"Currently Dead" is written by a business associate of mine, Bob Good and as much as we may have tried to keep it business through the years, we have become good friends and because of that I've had the privilege of following the evolution of this story. Upon reading, one cannot help but get engrossed with this story because of the well-developed personalities of heroes Ben Simon, Beth Grey, and Mectar, and the bugged-out villains, the Cylots. Its pages are filled with action and treated with a desire to morph real science into science fiction that I believe someday in our future will be realized. It's another story of Earth in peril with a unique twist to saving the planet from alien domination and a must read for cravers of good science fiction. It's a fun read and I enjoyed it immensely, now it's your turn - Carl Arriaga

Truly helpful and a Great Help with learning textures and techniques from professional artists. Certain pictures of Boris Vallejo's and Julie Bell's work are shown in a step by step process that you can follow in your own works. If you are not interested in learning how to paint this book is also a great collection to admire, either way you will not be disappointed. It's truly helped me with my digital painting I cannot wait until I have the free time to practice the techniques shown in the book.

This book is really more of a book full of images that inspired me to do more sci fi art work. it has a cpl of pseudo tutorials that are good. If you are doing this for the first time i would suggest something else. But as a person who needs inspiration for actually sitting down and doing something I would suggest this book. It has a whole range of really well done artwork that u can get tons and tons of ideas from.

Liked it, very good pacing, lots of surprises, excellent character deliniation. I wish more SF authors would get back to the basics like this and just tell a great fast-track adventure story without all the ET, bioweapon and psychobabble distractions. The details were just right, not too much, not too little. The plot was imaginative, linear and satisfying and full of unconventional concepts and twists. I highly recommend it.

When I started this book, I really had problems getting into it. I think that the problem for me was that it skipped around quite a bit between characters in the beginning and tried to introduce several new ones only to kill off some of them immediatly. In essence, I guess it took me out of my comfort zone and I wasn't too sure that I liked it. br / br /But, perseverance paid off and after 150 pages or so, I found myself drawn deeply into this robust story. The book is well written, taking us between current events happening with our vampire friends and deeper into the vampire mythology than we have ever been. Most of this novel focuses on the creation of the vampire race and it certainly does not disappoint. Mrs. Rice has created a rich, lush background for her version of the vampire species and by linking them to current events happening to her characters, she makes the history itself come alive...literally!

I just finished reading this book and, wow, did I love it. The story was intriguing and kept me glued to my seat. I hated to reach the final pages! The author has a wonderful storytelling style and I thoroughly enjoyed how she portrayed the characters' thoughts and actions. I also loved how the plot took its own twists and turns, ones that were definitely not predictable. This is an entertaining book with a great love story and I highly recommend it. I can't wait to read her first book, Fiona.
