Always skeptical of any Christian book addressing politics, I found this book absolutely amazing. In it, Professor Yoder first presents the Kingdom that Christ established and the rules by which its citizens would adhere. All that proceeds from this idea, our role in this current earthly kingdom, our ethics, our duties, naturally follow from the fact that Christians have one Lord and Master and there can be no shared allegiance.

It is an excellent book if you desire to study International Relation. The book gave you very intensive review of all kinds of theory, included but not limited to: Realism theory, Liberalism theory, the English School theory, Constructivism theory, Marxism theory and so on. The book gave you very detail descriptions of every theory and some historical examples. br / br /The book is written and published by British writer and publisher, which gave you slightly different point of views from domestic (U.S.) writers and publishers in regarding international relation.

The textbook provides an overview of basic theories, issues, and processes in the global system. However the chapters do not show very well how their subject matter relates to topics in the rest of the book. br / The text is both verbose and vague. Definitions of terms given are of limited value because they are so technical and wordy. Conflicting theories are not examined very critically and are hidden among the fluff of speculation about the future and lists of facts, figures, and events too numerous to be of impact. Data is listed but not effectively interpreted. Frequently there will be pages in which only a few sentences are actually important. The challenge is seeing which paragraphs can be skipped. br / The book is particularly good on great power rivalries and global conflicts. On political economy it is ambitious but cannot go into enough detail because it doesn't expect students to have taken economics. The chapters on NGOs and IGOs do not succeed at explaining what they actually do. br / Although realist views are discussed, the book is ambitious in pushing for liberal views even without supporting evidence. It devotes much time to them but does not manage to be convincing. The book HATES Bush for rejecting multilateralism and does not hesitate to criticize him or other leaders br / Most likely readers are forced to buy textbook for a class. It will induce sleep. Sifting through the material, not the material itself is the challenge.

Great read for UGA grads, students and fans
Very interesting read that sheds light on all the shortcomings of Dr. Adams. I was extremely excited to get this book and it did not disappoint. Scandals, affairs, and back room deals have run the state of Georgia for years and the trend seems to be continuing. Great read for UGA fans, students, and alumni to see how the system actually operates.

I'm really disappointed in this book and would not recommend it to anyone interested in understanding the basics of politics. br / br /There seemed to be many gaps of elementary information missing from this book. Such as, there was no discussion of term limits for elected officials (federal). How long the terms were for was discussed but not a word on the limits. br / br /Also, I understand this book was written by a woman but this author's over use of the pronouns 'her' and 'she' drove me nuts. Okay, we get it females play a part in politics but the conventional way would have been to use 'his' or 'he'. br / br /I'll be returning this book.

I am so confounded by the author and her views and studies. It is simply the greatest, I repeat greatest book on the Black American psyche. Although a little tough to digest and understand at times, she will re-emphasize her point so that we the reader don't miss out on the facts. I understand our workings more and how I view sexuality and other races. GET THIS BOOK since you are reading this review and you know this is the type of topics that interest you!

Recently, I needed to learn a great deal about global environmental issues and global environmental politics in a short period of time. My assistant went and bought more than two dozen books - edited volumes, easy readers, detailed analyses, text books, etc. I surveyed them all and read most cover to cover. This is by far the best. It gave me the essential information in a very readable and well organized format. It was did not lecture but informed. I saw many far longer or more focused volumes but this one covered all the bases and was a pleasure to read. It is a little strange to recommend this type of book around the office but when people ask me, this is the one I point to.
