I was very impressed with the thorough amount of information in this book. The author provided a lengthly list of selected references, which acknowledged the research that supported her recommendations she was making to the reader. It was a helpful step by step, detailed guide of nutrition from pre-pregnancy through the third trimester and included a wide range of nutritional information such as protein, healthy snacking, herbal teas, vitamins, minerals, vegetarian diets, herbal supplements, etc. etc. It also included pages addressing issues related to mood changes, cravings, weight gain, stress, exercise, delivery, nursing, high risk pregnancy and nutritional approaches to heartburn, gum problems, eclampsia, etc. It even included an appendix with 28 days worth of menus (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) and a variety of additional recipes. br /I found this book to be an interesting, applicable and detailed tutorial which provided guidelines that I appreciated acquiring!

I lent this to a friend who was trying to conceive and didn't know what to expect from insemination. I found it useful so did she! This book covers many issues of conception, pregnancy, and birth. Not a substitute for a more complete pregnancy manual, though. Some of the suggestions are outlandish (eat the placenta?!?!). Some great resources in this book.

I bought this book after I was well into my subsequent pregnancy. I only wish I would have purchased it sooner, like before I became pregnant again. This book confirmed the feelings that I had were valid, and I wasn't "crazy", and I don't have to feel guilty for feeling the way I do. The author lets you know it's ok to have certain feelings and that I'm not the only one who has felt this way. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that I am 100% pro-life. Although the author seems to have a strong faith in God, it seems like she makes it "okay" to have an abortion if the baby has a birth defect. Enough said about that. But overall, this book has helped me so much! Especially dealing with people who think that you're "okay" now that you're pregnant again and you should be over your grief now that you have another baby on the way. To anyone who has ever lost a child and wants to become or is pregnant again, get this book!

This book provides a somewhat funny look at the author's experience with the birth of his first child. I think the title is misleading, however, as there is very little practical information that an expectant father needs to know. Essentially, it's a light-hearted memoir of the experience, and after a while, the author's limited playbook of joke structures wore thin on me. br / br /Don't waste your money.

Dr. Clapp's book is a book that fitness professionals - especially anyone specializing in exercise for pregnant and/or postpartum women - need to read. The studies are fascinating, especially the concept that not only does exercise helps expectant moms have a healthier pregnancy, but that the state of being pregnant helps the body to become more fit! Interesting info on both the mom and baby.

I purchased this product via the internet. It arrived to me with different size pages within the book as well as slices out the tops of pages. The book was bought as new NOT old or used. Not happy with the price I paid, considering the quality of the book. br /Will question about purchasing in future.

This book is a great resource for maintaining a healthy pregnancy with multiples. It was the only book I found that focused on the different and needs of carrying twins (or more). There's a ton of detailed information on nutrition, weight gain, planning and preparation. I would have enjoyed seeing a few more details on the development (what's going on with the babies each week), but you can find that information on a million websites or in other basic books. I found this was my go to book throughout my pregnancy to make sure I was on track with what I was supposed to be doing.

I do locum tenens (temporary) doctoring and when I go on an assignment this is the first book to go in my suitcase. I take it to the office with me in the morning and take it home at night in case I get a question that I need it for. It is clear, concise, comprehensive and as authoritative as any text can be. If you care for or prescribe meds to pregnant or lactating women, this is a "must have".

I really enjoy writing in this pregnancy journal. The format keeps me on task every month and the questions help me to document all the occurences in the pregnancy-doctor's appointments, changes in me and baby, it's very organized. This journal is definetely written for the mother-not written to the baby per se, but I know it's something I will love sharing with my daughter when she is pregnant! It's got lots of details and questions that my son might not love reading about though, but I love looking back at his (I've used this with both pregnancies) because it helps me to remember all the details of being pregnant with him. If we have a third child there is no doubt I'd want another one of these journals!

I bought this book for my first pregnancy. It was very helpful and simple enough for the "newbie" pregnant woman to understand without too many scary details!
