Internet Law in a Nutshell (Nutshell Series) / Michael L. Rustad

I'm already doing online marketing and found this book to be packed full of useful information. Gret for the beginner but also for anyone wanting to find more advanced techniques in online marketing. Great stuff.

Excellent advice, clearly written
Web Marketing for Dummies is full of excellent, and useful, advice. Admittedly, the size was a little daunting. But then how else would they have fit so much stuff between the covers? As a small business owner who knows that I ought to do more, but isn't always sure what to do, I found this an excellent guide. It helped me discern what would be useful for me and my client base, and what strategies I could (for now) set aside. I highly recommend this, and don't be put off by the size, it isn't scary once you open it up!

A book based on facts, but written to be read as fiction. Once you start, you don't leave it. Makes you smile, and makes you think about new economy and what governments can and should do.

La imagen de internet se debate entre un estereotipo mediático popular que habla de su ilimitada capacidad autónoma y de recursos, frente a la realidad de las limitaciones y exclusiones con las que tropieza día a día que cada vez son toleradas y alimentadas como excusa necesaria para un desarrollo tecnológico, económico y social. br / br /En este contexto comentaba Juan Freire hace poco: br / br /"Internet ofrece un espacio virtual de libertad, autónomo de las autoridades del mundo físico." br / br /Y mientras el deseo de un espacio virtual libre y autónomo pueda ser genuino no hay nada más alejado de la realidad vigente. El espacio de Internet está sujeto cada vez más a normas, regulaciones, fronteras, que permiten la expansión de la herramienta pero también su adaptación a realidades locales. Las cuales desafortunadamente no tienen en cuenta únicamente los gustos o necesidades de un tipo de usuarios sino que se amoldan a necesidades de gobiernos o intereses privados generando prácticas represivas y restrictivas del uso de Internet. Es así Internet la que se adapta y no el gobierno de China acepta la libertad de expressión.

DO NOT GO TO COLLEGE WITHOUT THIS BOOK. It explains computer language in everyday language so if you are new to the jargon you can at least learn to understand. Great condition as good as any new book.

MCSE (Microsoft Certified SOFTWARE Engineer)!?
That is just one example of the many errors in this book. Note: For those new to modern technology, MCSE stands for Microsoft Certified SYSTEMS [not software] Engineer -- systems engineers and software engineers have very different roles. Hopefully, the next edition will be edited before going into production.

First and foremost, chapter 10 should be an Appendix. This was a horrible ending to what seemed to be a promising discussion on horizontal scaling for any system/network engineer or astute systems engineer. br / br /Clear and concise, then incoherent and grammatically challenged, this book requires constant read backs leaving the reader with a sense of a diminished level of reading comprehension. br / br /Fortunately there are some very good real world discussions on horizontal scaling, distributed caching, and eliminating single points of failure in your design. br / br /Unfortunately the book was a long documentary on the author's Spread utility/program/solution and the last chapter is dedicated to writing a module for Spread. Completely out of band with regards to actual high performance clustered environments where the author's solution is likely scarce in popularity. br / br /I do appreciate his coverage of logging. Despite my rating, I don't regret the first nine chapters.

Will be giving this to many people I know
By the far the best overall guide I've seen to getting "up to speed" on eMarketing. Lots of nonprofit groups out there should read this too, since they've been missing out. br / br /Very quick reading for something that could be a quantum leap for many organizations. Lots of helpful tips even for the "experienced," BTW. br / br /Strongly recommended.

I was looking forward to receiving this book because I'd been wanting it for a while. I'm glad I purchased it. It's going to help me take the necessary steps as a artist to get my work out there.

A good resource
This is mostly a great book for people who are 'net challenged, who haven't yet joined us in the internet age. It does have some helpful tips for those that are net savvy and just need ideas on marketing artwork online but it's a better resource for artists who haven't used the net much.

It's a very easy, specific introduction
If you're a practicing artist with little computer knowledge, then no easier introduction is available than Internet 101 for Artists, 2nd Edition, which covers everything from setting up email to making money on ebay, acquiring a URL, using meta tags to promote traffic and art, and more. It's a very easy, specific introduction which goes beyond the usual general computer guide for newcomers to reach directly into the artists' community.

I try to pick up something new from each poker book I read. As I am a new student to the game, I have found the starting hand chart found in this book to be extremely helpful. The chart lays out what hands you should play from what positions, and under what conditions (unraised/raised pot). br / br /But beyond this chart I have to agree with Bartman_9 in that internet poker is pretty much live poker without tells. There were a few pages of specific internet related material and internet tips here and there but not much at all. If you want to play serious online poker and you are somewhat of a beginner, then this book would be a good cold call, however don't expect it to impart an online silver bullet. You can't go wrong with this book, 3 stars.

New Perspectives on the Internet: Comprehensive (New Perspectives (Thomson Course Technology)) / Gary P. Schneider, Jessica Evans

The book is good. Very user friendly and lots of diagrams with explanations. Very easy to follow and interesting.

Computer Networks and Internets
Very readable. We are using this as a textbook for a masters class and it covers the topic of computer networks and the internet very well.

Hi, Recently I purchased a book "Computer and Internet Applications" by Douglas. E. Comer. It is a used book and yet it is in great condition. There are some pages that are marked with pen otherwise the book was maintained well before the purchase. I am satisfied with the purchase.
